The intake procedure
Once you have found the courage to begin your journey towards recovery, the process at Peggy-Sue Addiction Care starts with a brief telephone screening. During this call, pre-intake questions are asked to gain a better understanding of your situation. You will then receive documents which must be returned together with a referral letter to begin the intake procedure. This procedure comprises three individual consultations, for example with a social worker/lived-experience specialist, a psychologist and an addiction physician or psychiatrist.

The treatment plan
Once the authorisation request has been approved, we may begin the actual treatment. The type of care you receive depends on your situation. The initial focus may be on detoxification, after which treatment continues in the form of outpatient care, day treatment or residential treatment.

The treatment plan is carried out over six weeks, based on the evidence-based methodology developed by Peggy-Sue and the team.

Aftercare
After these six weeks, aftercare begins. Clients return to the Netherlands and receive 24 weeks of outpatient aftercare. In some cases, returning home is not an option. We assess this at the beginning of your treatment programme and arrange a Safehouse (supported accommodation). This provides a structured environment that supports recovery. After this period, the process will continue with interim evaluations and consultations to minimise the risk of relapse.
