Every intervention programme is unique and tailored to the individual situation. An intervention is a time-intensive process involving extensive preparation, support for the family and those directly involved, and aftercare for all parties.<\/p>

An intervention is not covered by health insurance and must therefore always be paid for privately in advance.<\/p>

Peggy-Sue generally conducts the initial intake herself and assesses your specific situation. Several programmes may be running at the same time. Our team consists of case managers, family counsellors and interventionists who take responsibility for specific programmes. Peggy-Sue also frequently travels abroad for clinic visits and conferences, or sometimes simply to take some time to rest. However, Peggy-Sue oversees every programme and always remains involved to a greater or lesser extent.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Our aftercare sets us apart: we provide at least 12 weeks of support. This includes group sessions as well as, of course, individual sessions with your practitioner.<\/p>

Aftercare is available both through health insurance and as a private programme.\u00a0<\/p>

Aftercare is provided to people who have been clean and sober for at least six weeks and have completed treatment.<\/p>

We strongly advocate moving directly into a safe house after residential admission and treatment, and we support you fully with the application.<\/span><\/div>

A recovery and sober companion can also be appointed. This is available as part of a private programme.\u00a0<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

The main language used during treatment is English, and some practitioners also understand Dutch.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

You decide this yourself, although we will advise you. We favour openness. Informing close family and, for example, an employer is often a necessary condition for a successful programme, including for practical reasons. We actively encourage breaking the stigma surrounding addiction. After all, it is a disease, and we want the loved ones of the person with an addiction to see it that way too.<\/p>

When we explain what is happening, it often leads to a great deal of understanding and support.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

In a sense, we believe an intervention can never fail. Fifty per cent of the intervention is intended for the family of the person with an addiction (or the person requesting it – who must genuinely hold an important place in that person's life). Because they go through an entire process, change always takes place. Sometimes it simply takes longer for the person with an addiction to follow. Even if the worst happens and they do not survive, the intervention has still achieved something: the family members know that they did everything in their power. They have learnt that it is, or was, no longer in their hands and have their own recovery programme.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
